Prestressing Bars
DYWIDAG and GEWI prestressed bars — a solution for reinforced concrete structural elements, for structural strengthening and rehabilitation, or in geotechnical applications.
Principles and Advantages
The Ferca PTB system is based on principles of economic and environmental rationalisation that allow the execution of prestressed elements in all types of works — in buildings, but also in geotechnical works, bridges or tunnels — with advantages that distinguish it from strand-based systems. Bars can also be bonded or unbonded, internal to the structural element or applied externally.
With advantages arising from their geometry and the process of force application, prestressed bars are the ideal solution for vertical prestressed elements, strengthening works, slope or excavation stabilisation, tie rods or various temporary applications.
For all Ferca PTB bar models, a range of accessories is available for permanent or temporary installation with maximum reliability, as well as stressing and injection, whether in ground, concrete or external applications.
Characteristics
Ferca PTB prestressed bars are certified to European standards, specifically via the European Technical Assessment (ETA), and can be produced from steels with different characteristics which, combined with a wide range of diameters, allow adaptability to the most varied structural challenges a project may present, with installed forces ranging from 20 kN to 2000 kN.
Nota: Anchor plate dimensions for use without additional reinforcement; other configurations are possible subject to analysis.
Design
The consideration of prestressed elements requires some specialisation and knowledge of the system, its characteristics, dimensions and the equipment involved in its installation, stressing and injection. For this reason Ferca is available to provide support in the calculation, layout and detailing process for your project.
