Presentation
FERCA – Construções Racionalizadas e Estruturas, Lisboa, S.A. is an engineering company dedicated to the commercialisation of solutions, materials and services related to the civil construction industry.
Established under its current name in 1978, Ferca initially focused its activity on structural lightweight solutions, introducing lightweight concrete blocks to Portugal and later recoverable plastic formwork systems that remain part of the company's portfolio to this day. In 1982, Ferca began, in partnership with Freyssinet, the application of post-tensioning systems in buildings, exploring an area of engineering that was at the time little developed nationally and in Europe. In 2010, the company signed an agreement for the production and representation of the Cobiax brand, once again incorporating one of the most relevant innovations in the design and execution of reinforced concrete slabs on the national market.
The development of these activities over the years has given the company and its teams the opportunity to participate in landmark projects with the best designers in the country, bringing together unique technical expertise that allows them to deliver significant added value to their clients, collaborators and partners.
Characterised by its strong technical component and a permanent spirit of collaboration with all stakeholders in pursuit of value-adding solutions, the company continues to actively seek the introduction and development of products that combine innovation, rationalisation and knowledge, maintaining its pioneering character today.
As a result, Ferca combines knowledge and resources with a wide range of solutions and products that enable it to develop the structural options that best meet its clients' challenges, alongside an active innovation policy aimed at the sustainability of the market in which it operates.
Values, Mission & Vision
A RELATIONSHIP OF QUALITY
Quality, knowledge and dedication as the drivers of our growth, believing that only in this way can we improve individually and collectively, anticipate, satisfy and exceed our ambitions and our clients' expectations.
Ethics and credibility as pillars of interaction with the surrounding environment, knowing that only through responsibility, reliability and knowledge will it be possible to sustainably achieve success.
Respect for the individual — as a collaborator, supplier or client — believing that their degree of personal satisfaction, well-being and the environment surrounding them in their relationship with the company will provide the best response on their part.
A SUSTAINABLE MISSION
To provide services in the engineering sector, grounded in quality and specific technical knowledge, offering sustainable solutions that incorporate innovation and rationalisation in construction, creating value for shareholders, collaborators and the market.
OUR VISION
To be a reference company in the civil engineering world, recognised for the incorporation of innovation, quality, sustainability and rationalisation in construction.
History
Ferca has a successful history of introducing solutions and technologies to the national market over recent decades, driven by an entrepreneurial and pioneering spirit that has endured since its founding.
Beginning its activity with the introduction of lightweight blocks produced on-site and later with the rental of recoverable plastic formwork — responsible for a true revolution in the design and execution of commercial areas and car parks — the company and its teams were able to participate actively in countless landmark projects in collaboration with some of the best designers, architects and contractors in the country.
With the introduction of post-tensioning applications in slabs, Ferca once again placed itself at the forefront of building technology, contributing over the years to the widespread adoption of its use in response to evolving concepts of space and functionality in architecture.
Continuing its trajectory, Ferca also developed EPS applications and the Ecobox recycled polypropylene blocks for slabs, introduced systems such as Cupolex for ventilated floors and infill, and the Cobiax slab lightening system — now branded Cobiax CBX — and more recently the new Swiss-origin Cobiax CLS system.
Today Ferca actively pursues an innovation policy aimed at introducing new solutions and services, reconfiguring and enhancing existing products, and opening new markets — expanding its portfolio and diversifying its activity through relationships with industry professionals, universities and, in particular, its business partners.
In short, a story that began in 1978 but continues to renew itself — alive and leaving its mark on the market, embracing new challenges for the decades ahead in the pursuit of solutions that contribute to a more efficient, rational and sustainable sector.
Internationalisation
The internationalisation of the company's activity initially arose in response to the challenges of partners and clients, and today stands as an ambitious process essential to the company's objectives — of which the establishment of affiliated companies in Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde is the most visible step.
These companies, headquartered in Luanda, Maputo and Praia, follow Ferca's operational model in their markets, benefiting from the accumulated expertise of its technicians, a wide range of products and services, and a set of partnerships that allow them to be today fully integrated in their respective markets.
True to the principles of technical and economic rationalisation, these companies have found solutions that add value to the market, having already completed a significant number of interventions in post-tensioning, lightening and structural reinforcement.
Over the years and beyond the aforementioned markets, Ferca has participated in projects in Spain, Kenya, Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Ivory Coast and South Africa, driven by the excellent partnerships established in these markets.
